Welcome to the Ledger Getting Started Hub
Welcome to the official Ledger Getting Started Hub — your trusted source for setting up your Ledger hardware wallet safely. Whether you’ve purchased the Ledger Nano X, Ledger Nano S Plus, or another Ledger model, this guide will help you initialize, secure, and start managing your cryptocurrency assets in minutes.
Ledger devices are designed to keep your private keys offline and out of reach of hackers. Follow these instructions carefully to begin your crypto journey securely with Ledger.com/Start.
Step 1: Unbox and Verify Your Ledger Device
When your Ledger device arrives, ensure the packaging is sealed and has not been tampered with. Authentic Ledger devices are always delivered with official seals and have never been pre-initialized. If you notice any irregularities, contact Ledger Support directly.
Inside the box, you’ll find:
- Your Ledger hardware wallet
- USB cable for connectivity
- Recovery phrase sheets
- Keychain strap and setup instructions
Step 2: Visit Ledger.com/Start
Go to Ledger.com/Start — the only official and secure setup page. Here, you’ll be guided to download the Ledger Live application, available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. Avoid third-party websites or app stores that may distribute fake apps.
Step 3: Install and Open Ledger Live
Once installed, launch the Ledger Live app and follow the on-screen setup wizard. This software connects your device to the Ledger ecosystem, allowing you to manage your crypto assets and perform transactions with confidence.
Step 4: Set Up Your New Device
Follow these steps to initialize your Ledger device:
- Choose “Set up as new device.”
- Create a secure 4–8 digit PIN code to protect your wallet.
- Write down your 24-word recovery phrase on the provided recovery sheet.
- Confirm your recovery phrase on your device to complete setup.
Your 24-word phrase is your master key. Never share it with anyone, and never type it on any website or computer. Ledger will never ask for it — not even for support purposes.
Step 5: Add and Manage Crypto Accounts
Inside Ledger Live, install cryptocurrency apps (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Solana). Once installed, you can create accounts and start transferring assets. Each transaction must be confirmed directly on your Ledger device’s screen — ensuring security against malware or phishing.
Why Choose Ledger?
Ledger is trusted by millions of users worldwide for its commitment to privacy and security. With its Secure Element chip and offline key storage, your assets remain protected from online threats. The Ledger Live app offers intuitive management tools for your portfolio, staking, and token swaps — all within a single interface.
Stay Safe — Use Only Official Sources
Always access Ledger.com/Start directly from your browser’s address bar. Beware of imitation websites and phishing links on social media. Remember: your recovery phrase should only be written down and kept offline in a secure location.
